Samsung Galaxy Note20, Note20 Ultra with variable 120Hz display now official

Samsung has finally unveiled the new Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra that comes with an Exynos 990 SoC, up to 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage.

After months of leaks and speculation, the latest flagship from Samsung has arrived. Samsung says that the new Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra is designed for Life Maximizers who demand the highest performance while the S-series is for social expression.

Like the Note10 family, the Note20 series will come in two flavors. The first is the vanilla Note20 that comes with a flat 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O display. Inside is the 7nm Exynos 990 SoC, 8GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB UFS internal storage, and 4300mAh battery with support for up to 45W fast charging via USB Type-C. At the back of Note20 is a triple rear camera set-up of a 12MP main camera, 64MP Telephoto camera and 12MP Ultra-wide camera that supports up to 30x Space Zoom.

While the Note20 Ultra comes with a massive WQHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2.0 Infinity-O display with an Adaptive 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. Inside is the same 7nm Exynos 990 SoC, 8GB/12GB LPDRR5 RAM, 256GB UFS internal storage, and 4500mAh battery with up to 45W fast charging through the USB Type-C support. At the back of the Note20 Ultra is the 108MP main camera, 12MP telephoto camera, 12MP Ultra-wide camera and a Depth Vision sensor with a new Laser AF system. Samsung claims that this new laser AF system significantly improves the AF of the cameras that plagued the S20 Ultra. It supports up to 50x Space Zoom.

The cameras will be able to record up to 8K at 24fps in both 16:9 and 21:9 aspect ratio. Like the S20 Ultra, the Note20 family will come with Pro Photo and Pro Video modes.

Both smartphones come with a 10MP front-facing camera on the punch hole, IP68 water and rust resistance certification, In-display Ultra-Sonic Fingerprint scanner, Stereo Speakers, Wireless Charging, Wireless PowerShare, Wireless Dex and the S-Pen. 

The new S-Pen is still connected by Bluetooth but has been improved with 9ms of latency compared to the Note10's 42ms of latency.

The Note20 and Note20 Ultra will come in 5G and LTE versions. 

Pricing and Availability

In the Philippines, the 5G versions of the Note20 and Note20 Ultra will be exclusive through pre-orders and through operator/carrier/telcos. The LTE versions will not have exclusivity. 

Samsung Philippines reveals that locally, the Note20 Ultra will be available in Mystic Bronze and Mystic Black while the Note20 will come in Mystic Gray, Bronze and Green. Pre-orders begin on August, 2020.

If you pre-order the Note20 Ultra 5G, you will get a free 34SQM Air Purifier worth 16,995 while those who pre-order the Note20 Ultra LTE, they will get free Galaxy Buds Live or an e-store voucher worth PHP 7,500. For those who pre-order the Note20, they will get a free Galaxy Buds+ or an e-store voucher worth PHP 5,000.

Both the Note20 and Note20 Ultra will arrive in the Philippines this coming September 2020.

During the opening weekend, Samsung will offer up to PHP 2,000-off on any Samsung item in the store and PH and on the Samsung Care+ service. (Extended Warranty, Hassle-Free Claims and Free pick-up and delivery).

Lastly, for those who pre-order at Midnight, customers are entitled to the UV Sterilizer with Wireless Charging worth PHP 2,199.
